We are able to offer you a qualification with SSI, NAUI or PADI - we will explain the differences and let you decide!
Our instructors are all experienced divers and training instructors - should you feel more comfortable with a woman, a man, someone older or someone younger, we have an instructor who will fit the bill. Across the three training institutions, the names and content of various courses may differ slightly, but they all offer courses in:
Snorkel Programme
Tied of swallowing sea water when you snorkel - our course will teach you the basics of snorkelling.
Scuba Tryout
For those who want to know if they will even be able to trust in breathing underwater, this is ideal for you. In the shallow end of the pool, experience what it’s like to breathe off scuba gear underwater.
Discover Scuba
Here you will learn the basics of scuba diving which will enable you to dive in the ocean accompanied by an instructor.
Open Water Diver
The entry level course for scuba diving.
Advanced Diver
This improves on your entry level skills with instruction in diving a little deeper, basic navigation, bouyancy and much more!
Speciality Programmes
There is just so much to see and experience underwater and there are a number of training programmes to assist you in enhancing your skills and knowledge base, including courses on Nitrox, Diving Deeper, Search and Recovery, Navigation, React Right/First Aid, Technical Diving, Side-mount Diving, Photography, Peak Performance Bouyancy, Wreck Diving, Cave Diving, Marine Ecology, Fish Identification, Shark Ecology, Sea turtle Ecology and many more.

Dive Master
Earn the qualification to lead dives with the potential for a career in diving as a Dive Master or towards your instructor ticket.
Swim, Mermaid and lifeguard programmes
Ideal fun for the little ones wanting to have fun and learn to swim, up to teenagers looking to earn a spot on the on the beach as a lifeguard (additional training and experience needed for employment as a lifeguard).
14th – 17th June – Aliwal Shoal and Southern Beauties
Dive reports from Aliwal confirm that the reef has been taken over by the presence of the Ragged Tooth Sharks, they even had a whale shark last week. Further south there has been great reports of pockets of sardines and the charters are already in full action on the Sardine Runs. We will take advantage of the public holiday and dive Aliwal and visit the “Southern Beauties”. This reef system is situated south of the Shoal and boasts some of the most beautiful reefs which are not often dived. Most of these reefs are a bit deeper and perfect for a Nitrox dive and who knows maybe a sardine ball with some action. I have secured a beautiful guesthouse and we have the Premier hotel to use for accommodation. Please let me know if you wish to join us.
July School Holidays
Escape the cold Gauteng and bring the kids to the beach in Ponta Malongane. Days are warm, diving is amazing.
August Long weekend 8th – 11th August
Where better to celebrate National Woman’s Day than beautiful Ponta Malongane “where heaven meets earth”. Celebrate the woman in your life and treat her to a weekend at Ponta Malongane.
Red Sea Trips 2024
Southern Beauties – 28th June – 7th July
“Sharky” Ahmed Mamdouh will be hosting this amazing safari. He is the Shark Project Ambassador in Egypt, owner of Legacy Liveaboard, founder of Decodivers. A few of Prestige guests had the honour of meeting and diving with him in 2021. We will always remember the amazing presentation he did for us on sharks. This trip will be amazing, diving the magnificent walls, searching for the hammerheads and hopefully blessed again with whale sharks and mantas. The safari will include diving the beautiful Fury Shoal.
Northern Safari Wrecks and Reef – 5th July – 14th July
These two trips will allow you to do a back to back trip, saving money on flights and spending 2 weeks in paradise.
For some of us not so lucky to spend two weeks in Egypt, this safari will showcase the magnificent wrecks and reefs the Red Sea has to offer. The northern sites are known as “The Shipwreck Graveyard”. Abu Nuhas will offer you three amazing wreck dives in one day and get you ready for the famous Thistlegorm wreck. The North also offers stunning reefs and the famous Thomas Canyon on their itinerary.
COURSES
Open Water courses can be done through winter with the use of the indoor pool facility. We are able to do mid week or weekend courses.
First Aid Course – Whether you need to do the course or an update, this is a great time to get it done. Please let me know who would be keen so I can set a course schedule.
Deep, Nitrox ,Wreck or Shark Specialties can be completed on our weekend at Aliwal Shoal. Purchasing the SSI Specialty bundle can save you some money especially if you complete the dives at Aliwal, one dive could count towards at least 3 specialties, example: a dive to the Produce Wreck can count as a deep, wreck, nitrox and shark dive, so continue your dive education and join us.
Rescue Course - Winter is ideal to get all the theory done so by the time Spring arrives only pool and Bass Lake dives stand in your way to becoming a Rescue diver.
Lastly, anyone keen to join Prestige Dive School in Ponta Malongane for the December holidays, the resort is almost fully booked. Please make contact with me so I can send a request through to the booking office to be notified of any cancellations. I have a few campsites, chalets and a rondavel available for certain dates. In the meantime it would be great to see you all soon, we will get our Enviro Evenings up and running soon and will keep you posted on the dates. For the convenience of our clients we offer SSI, NAUI and PADI qualifications, with dedicated and highly experienced instructors. We have a full retail shop, offer cylinder fills, a cylinder testing service and gear repair and servicing. Our lecture room, swimming pool, gear repair station and filling station are all on site at our premises in Boksburg.
In the warmer months, our solar heated pool will ensure your comfort and in the cooler winter months, we move our pool sessions to a nearby indoor heated pool.
